Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. today struck a deal to acquire privately-held dermocosmetics products maker NeoStrata Company, Inc.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition includes NeoStrata's affiliates and parent company TriStrata, Incorporated.

NeoStrata, based in New Jersey, develops and markets a range of clinically-proven, dermatologist-developed, skin care products that meet the needs of every skin type.

The company makes anti ageing systems that target the signs of aging; concealing treatment cosmetics to conceal and correct skin imperfections, such as dark eye circles, blemishes, age spots, varicose veins, bruises, birthmarks, and tattoos; topical solutions to relieve the itching, scaling, flaking, redness, and irritation associated with psoriasis; and alpha hydroxy acid superficial peeling systems for patients with multiple skin rejuvenation concerns, including rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, discolorations and blemishes.

"NeoStrata's legacy in dermocosmetics will complement our global Consumer portfolio and enable us to deliver advanced skin care brands to consumers around the world," said Jorge Mesquita, Worldwide chairman, Consumer, Johnson & Johnson.
