Jakarta police return passports; Jain, Malhotra will be back soon

Chennai: The Indian embassy in Jakarta has said that the Indonesian police in Jakarta have returned the passports of Polaris Software CEO Arun Jain and senior vice-president Rajiv Malhotra today morning.

The two were arrested by the Jakarta police on 13 December 2002 on a complaint lodged by Bank Artha Graha, Polaris’ client. The Polaris officials had gone to Jakarta to sort out a dispute with the Indonesian bank (See ).

Both were released on 20 December 2002 following a major diplomatic initiative by the Indian government (See ).
