Jeep opens first outlet in Ahmedabad

12 Sep 2016

On 9 September, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India, the Italian car maker, launched its first Jeep Destination Store, named 'Concept Motorcar Pvt Ltd', which is reported to host some exclusive Jeep models. The outlet became fully operational on the launch date itself, and consumers in Gujarat now book the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep showroom, spread over 7,500 square feet, is located on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway.

Additionally, the store also has a 12,000 square-foot workshop, which is located in TalukaSanand,  Block No – 298 Paiki and 300, MoujeSanathal.

According to commentators, with the launch of its first outlet in India, Jeep is expected to fortify its sale strength in coming days.

According to a Jeep spokesperson, the Ahmadabad-based store would house all the recently launched Jeeps, including the Wrangler Unlimited, the Grand Cherokee, and the Grand Cherokee SRT.

However, all the vehicles listed to accommodate in the newly Jeep store are exclusive and carry steep price tags.

The Jeep products were showcased at the 13th edition of Delhi Auto Expo 2016. Kevin Flynn, president and managing director of FCA India said the company planned to introduce a 'made in India' variant in the market soon. Jeep would be retailing all its models through its own dealerships across the country.

With the models imported into the country through completely built units (CBUs), the company seemed to be very certain with the manufacturing all the Jeep products locally at Ranjangaon facility near Pune. The vehicles brought through CBU route attracted around 180 per cent of the duty which nearly doubled the ex-factory price.
