JetLite introduces online booking engine

JetLite, the wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd, today commenced opeerations of its new online booking engine  that offers a flexible web-sale solution to cater to the increasing ecommerce activities in ticket purchasing in the Indian market.

Flyers can follow a simple booking process and make their selection based on three parameters - lowest fares, fixed dates and flexible dates.

The no-frills carrier saqys once the booking has been made, users will also receive a SMS and an email confirmation of the booking on their mobile phones.

In addition to the on-line booking engine, it offers features like 'manage my booking' and 'PNR status' on its website.
JetLite expects the new self-service platform to reduce distribution costs and attract customer loyalty.

IT said in a press release, "The unique automated CyberSource Risk screening solution along with the 3D secure payment gateway as per RBI guidelines ensures transactions are secure."

Jetlite.com also offers web check-in facility where in flyers can select their preferred seat and print their boarding pass from the comfort of their home or office.

Former Sahara Airlines, which Naresh Goyal's Jet Airways acquired in in April 2007 and rechristned as JetLite, is a wholly owned all-economy, no-frills subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd. It operates a fleet of 23 aircraft, which includes 16 Boeing 737 series and 7 Canadian Regional Jets 200 Series.

The airline flies to 28 domestic destinations and to Kathmandu and Colombo, operating over 110 flights a day, on an average.
