Jubilant net jumps 86% with Domino’s on a roll

Its expansion plans boosted by strong returns from its Domino's Pizza outlets, Indian fast food chain operator Jubilant Foodworks Ltd, which runs the Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts chains in India as the master franchisee, has announced that it will open 80 new outlets this fiscal, up from 72 added last year.

It also said on Thursday that it will launch the first Domino's Pizza store in Sri Lanka by next month. Bangladesh is also on its radar as Jubilant seeks to expand outside India.

The company saw profits jump by 85.76 per cent jump in standalone net profit for the fourth quarter ended 31 March at Rs19.32 crore, compared to Rs10.40 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, as new stores brought in more business.

Net sales also jumped 56 per cent to Rs194 crore compared to Rs124.05 crore in the same period of 2009-10.

For the year ended 31 March 2011, Jubilant's net profit saw an over two-fold increase at Rs72 crore, compared to Rs32.96 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company's standalone net sales for the year increased 59.94 per cent at Rs678.07 crore, as against Rs423.93 crore during the 12 month period ended March 31, 2010.
