Kalpataru Power- Zangas consortium bags 240 crore GAIL pipeline contract

A consortium of power transmission tower maker Kalpataru Power Transmission and German gas infrastructure company Zangas has been awarded a gas pipeline contract, estimated at Rs240 crore by GAIL, the company said in a filing with the stock exchanges.

GAIL has recently awarded to KPTL-Zangas consortium section -B of its 48-inch diametre high pressure gas pipeline from Vijaypur to Dadri at an estimated contract value of Rs 240 crore.

KPTL had submitted their bid in consortium with JSC-Zangas for GAIL's prestigious Vijaipur-Dadri piper project in June, 2008. The section consists of 165.5 KMs of 48" pipeline with associated facilities. Preliminary activities for implementation of the project have already been undertaken.

KPI'L has already completed over 1000 Kms of cross country pipelines in India in the last four years of starting infrastructure business in Oil & Gas sector. Recently KPI'L's completed the Panvel-Dabhol Pipeline project in Western Ghat areas which had enabled GAIL to timely commence gas supply to Dabhol power Plant.

The company has made large investments in specialized pipeline equipments to the tune of Rs100 Cr to sieze the opportunity available in EPC contracting of Oil & Gas pipelines for clients such as GAIL, IOCL, HPCL, BPCL, GSPC, Reliance etc in India and for PDO, OGC, ADNOC, DEPA, ARAMCO & Petronas etc. internationally. This division has the capability of building cross country pipelines of any size from 12 inch to 48 inch and in toughest of terrains.
