Kawasaki and its Indian partner Bajaj Auto on Wednesday launched the Ninja 650R, part of the Japanese bike makers' famous Ninja range, through Bajaj's 'pro biking' stable.

The bike, priced at Rs4.57 lakh in Delhi, would be sold and serviced exclusively through Bajaj Probiking, one of the largest dealership networks for premium motorcycles in the country.

It will be available at Bajaj Probiking showrooms in 30 cities

The Ninja 650R has a twin cylinder engine that delivers power of 72 PS and torque of 66 Nm. It comes with features such as triple petal disc brakes, MotoGP display, daylight running lights with hazard indicators, under-slung exhaust; and is tuned for 91 octane fuel to make it suited to Indian conditions.

''We conceived Bajaj Probiking six years ago with the objective of making it the default destination for motorbike enthusiasts looking for premium and performance bikes. The Ninja 650R is the next step in realising that objective. The Kawasaki Ninja 250R has been a success with 1500 of these speed machines sold to date. It is now joined by 650R," Rajiv Bajaj, managing director, Bajaj Auto said at the launch in Mumbai.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650R will be backed with Probiking service capabilities and spare parts availability.
