Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala Ayurvedic Hospital in Kochi

Kochi: Writing a new chapter in healthcare, Vaidyaratnam PS Varier's Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, has opened Kottackal Arya Vaidya Sala Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre at Sree Sudheendra Medical Mission Complex here.

Padmanabhadasa Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma, the Maharaja of Travancore, inaugurated the centre at a function held at the Fine Arts Hall.

"Ayurveda provides a holistic approach to life and, with the opening of this hospital, it will be reaching out to more people," he said. Quoting the Bhagavad Gita, he said the body is a field that needs to be taken care of very well.

Justice KS Paripoornan, a former Supreme Court judge, presided over the function. "PS Varier's mission was to spread ayurveda to all parts of the world and to serve the poor. The Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala is built on pure service," he said.

Dr PK Warrier, the managing trustee and the chief physician of Arya Vaidya Sala, and S Prabhakara Prabhu, the president of Sree Sudheendra Medical Mission, also spoke at the function.

Dr CK Ramachandran, a noted physician from Kozhikode, MV Pylee, the former vice-chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology, and TMV Shenoy, the president of Dr Padiar Memorial Homeo College and Hospital, offered felicitations.
