L&T bags orders worth Rs1500 crore for various construction works

Larsen & Toubro's Buildings & Factories Operating Company, part of its construction division, has announced having strengthened its order book by Rs1,500 crores for the construction of hospitals, residential towers and factory buildings.

L&T has secured two orders amounting to Rs627 crores for construction of hospital projects from HLL Lifecare Limited.

The first order is for Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, involving turnkey construction of a 400- bed hospital for women and children, which will include a hostel complex and a teaching block. The order additionally covers augmentation of existing facilities.

The second order is for the construction of ESIC medical college and hospital at Paripally in Kollam District, Kerala.

In the residential segment, a Rs342 crores contract has been secured from Shree Ahuja Properties & Realtors Private Ltd for the proposed residential ''Ahuja Towers'' at Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

In yet another development, a Rs321-crore contract has been secured from Lucknow Development Authority for the construction of residential towers.]

Further orders worth Rs210 crore have been secured for the construction of an automobile factory at Manesar including add on works at Bhiwadi.

These orders further enhance the company's order book which has already includes orders for major design & build contracts for airports, IT Parks and commercial space. L&T has a commanding market share in these segments.
