Lamborghini launches Aventador S in India at Rs5.01 crore

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker, has now launched its new Aventador S LP 740-4 coupe – which is a scaled-up version of the standard Aventador - in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs5.01 crore,

The Aventador 'S' comes with an improved design, sharper styling, better aerodynamics and a retuned V12 engine that churns out over 40 BHP of additional power.

The launch of the car in India within a couple of months of its global launch, also marks an aggressive marketing strategy for the carmaker in terms of products. Incidentally, this is the second launch from Lamborghini after the Huracan RWD Spyder.
 
The new Aventador S LP 740-4 is powered by a 6.5 litre V12 engine that churns out 730bhp at 8400 rpm and develops a peak torque of 690Nm at 5500 rpm giving 40 BHP of power. The engine comes with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.

The engine allows the car to go from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and in 30-metres. The car can reach a top speed of 350 kmph. It can also come to a halt with equal ease.

The Aventador S LP 740-4 boasts of monocoque carbon fibre chassis. The body, the engine bonnet, rear air inlets and spoiler are also made of carbon fibre, while the other panels are made of aluminium and synthetic material.

Carbon-ceramic brakes with fixed calipers monoblock in aluminium with 6 pistons (front) and 4 pistons (rear) ensure efficient braking.

The 2017 Aventador S also gets vertical fins like the Super Veloce that improves downforce and reduces drag. The Aventador S runs on new multi-spoke alloys shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres that help improve steering and traction and braking efficiency.

Besides, the car has a sleeker and sharper profile, and more pronounced muscular lines. The front bumper is redesigned for better air intake and to give the impression of an aggressive stance.

The cabin comes with a new digital instrument cluster that gets multiple layouts based on the driving mode - Strada, Corsa, Sport and the new configurable Ego. In addition, there is a provision to add Apple CarPlay with a telemetry system.
