Consumer durables major LG Electronics has launched a new interactive television in the Indian market, which has inbuilt online content, movies, gaming and other applications.

The 'Smart TV' will be supported by local content providers such as NDTV.com, Hungama.com, Indiatimes.com and Zapak.com.

'Smart TV' would allow access to thousands of movies, customisable applications, videos besides allowing users to browse the web through an easy to navigate interface, LG Electronics India said in a statement.

"LG Smart TVs have been designed to provide endless options of entertainment. Eventually content is going to be the key differentiating factor for the consumer; therefore we have taken the lead in providing an excellent mix of global as well as India-specific content for our Smart TV buyers," LG Electronics managing director Soon Kwon said.

The 'Smart TV' will be available in 14 stock keeping units (SKUs) in screen sizes varying from 32" to 55" and a price range varying from Rs43,000 to Rs1.7 lakh.

LG has, meanwhile, struck a deal with TV games network PlayJam to bundle the latter's gaming service with LG Smart TV for worldwide distribution via its own platform `Netcast'.
