LG has launched yet another handset under the Cookie brand name in India,  the Cookie Zip. Targeted at the large CDMA user base in India, the Cookie Zip is also known as the LG 510.

The Zip comes with features like Live TV using the EVDO (Evolution Data Optimised) and a 3-inch touch screen display, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.2. It has a 72MB of internal memory which can be increased up to 4GB and like other Cookie phones, this LG 510 too is social networking ready with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Orkut apps pre-installed. The phone can record video clips at QVGA resolution and the 900Mah battery offers a 5 hour talk time with a standby time of over 150 hours.

According to analysts the phone might be somewhat expensive at Rs8,299, however, given the dearth of good feature phones on the CDMA platform, the Cookie Zip it may appeal to people looking for a mid range decent handset on the CDMA platform.

''The Cookie Zip promises ultimate experience for the CDMA enthusiast. As the name suggests, the phone will enable our young mobile users to have an unordinary fun experience. It delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment in a delightfully compact form and enables us to realize how much more out there are we could do with the faster network by EVDO; 3G like technology in CDMA,'' said Sudhin Mathur, business group head, mobile communications, LG Electronics India.
