Utility vehicles maker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has launched a new and improved version of its popular Maxximo Plus mini-truck, which it claims, is equipped with the `Feel Smart' technology that makes it one of the most-fuel-efficient in its class.

The new Maxximo Plus, unveiled in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, is the country's most technologically advanced 0.85-tonne payload mini-truck, M&M said in a release.

''Equipped with the pioneering yet simple-to-use Fuel Smart technology, the new Maxximo Plus allows the customer to choose between higher power (26 HP; 19.2 kW) or higher mileage (21.9 kpml), as and when he needs, at the press of a switch,'' the company said.

An upgraded version of Mahindra's Maxximo launched in 2010, the Maxximo Plus is attractively priced at Rs3.45 lakh for the BS III version (ex-showroom Ahmedabad). The BS IV version is priced at Rs3.52 lakh.

The new Maxximo Plus comes with a longer wheelbase and a stronger 7-leaf rear suspension, which imparts more sturdiness under heavy load and over rough roads, M&M said.

The new Maxximo Plus also has the least operating cost per tonne km, allowing the user to potentially earn approximately 30 per cent more, per year, over the competition. Besides, superior mileage, the new Maxximo Plus has lower maintenance cost and the ability to carry more load with faster turn-around time. At the same time, the new Maxximo Plus retains features such as greater comfort, style and safety.
