M&M launches the New Age XUV 500

Leading Indian sports utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched New Age XUV500 in Mumbai, with prices starting at Rs 11.12 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The New Age XUV500, an updated version of its XUV500 launched in 2011, has been launched in six variants (W4, W6, W8, W8 AWD, W10 and W10 AWD).

"The XUV500 has become the fastest selling SUV (in the Rs 10 lakh and over category) to reach the 1 lakh vehicles milestone in less than three years. The New Age XUV500, I am confident, will once again resonate with our customers and excite them," said Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive, (Automotive) at M&M.

The new XUV500 comes with a new exterior look, including a new front grille with chrome inserts, new static bending headlamps with light guides, new fog lamps with chrome bezel and a new window chrome lining. The vehicle also sports 17-inch alloy wheels and new rear chrome appliqué.

The vehicle also has new electric sunroof, projection lamps on outside rear-view mirrors, six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, push button start, keyless entry and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS.

The vehicles would be available across dealerships in Maharashtra with immediate effect.
The updated version sports added features, including electric sunroof, push button start and 6-way adjustable seats.

The Mumbai-based firm had first launched the XUV in September 2011.

With this launch, the company that has about 40 per cent market share, expects to further strengthen its position.
