M&M unveils `Quanto’, the cheapest compact SUV

Utility vehicle and tractor major Mahindra & Mahindra has launched their compact MUV, the Quanto, for a very competitive price of Rs5.82 lakh for the base variant, going up to Rs7.36 lakh for the fully loaded top-end version (ex-showroom Maharashtra).

The new vehicle will be available in four variants – C2, C4, C6 and C8, with the top-end variant, the C8, loaded with features like the ABS, 2-airbags and park assist.

The Quanto is powered by 1.5-litre 3-cylinder diesel twin-turbo mill producing 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and fitted with 205/65/15 tyres.

The Quanto gives 17.21kmpl as per ARAI efficiency norms and Mahindra claims range of over 900 km in one tank of fuel.

Mahindra & Mahindra, a part of the $15.4 billion Mahindra Group, said the Quanto is based on customer insights that pointed towards the need for a compact and affordable SUV, designed and developed on the company's Ingenious platform.
