Mahindra Satyam sets up offshore development center for BASF's IT division

Mahindra Satyam, the new brand identity of Satyam Computer Services Ltd, today announced the launch of an offshore development centre (ODC) for BASF IT Services at one of its offices in Chennai.

Ralf Sonnberger, managing director of BASF IT Services, inaugurated the facility.

The state-of-the-art ODC housed in Mahindra Satyam's development centre in Chennai, would provide managed services for BASF's extensive installed base of SAP, messaging and groupware as well as user administration," a Mahindra Satyam release said.

"We are pleased with our association with Mahindra Satyam. This development will serve as a great platform for further business value opportunities. We have experienced great quality and considerable efficiency gains in our engagement with Mahindra Satyam till date. We are confident of enjoying the same, in the years to come," Sonnberger said at the launch of the ODC.

The centre would help BASF deliver quality services at competitive prices to its customers.

Currently, 150 professionals are operating out of this ODC and Mahindra Satyam plans to ramp up capacity to 500 professionals by 2011 in order to extend services to BASF in North and South America and the Asia Pacific region.
