Mammoth real estate project Sahara City Homes exhibited at Dubai

14 Dec 2007

Mumbai: Sahara Group's real estate arm Sahara Infrastructure and Housing has exhibited its flagship project 'Sahara City Homes' at the Indian Property Show, Dubai.

The three-day Indian Property Show is one of the largest and most diverse exhibitions of exclusive Indian property, catering to NRIs customers and investors. Exhibitors include major real estate developers of India, who are showcasing their projects to prospective buyers in Dubai. The show began on 13 December 2007, and is being hosted at Airport Expo, Dubai.

The pioneering project of Sahara Infrastructure and Housing, Sahara City Homes, according to a statement by the company, is the world's largest chain of self-sufficient, high quality townships to be developed in 217 cities across India.

The company's participation in the Indian Property Show is part of its plans to tap the large NRI community in Middle East, providing them an opportunity to secure residential units from a range of products offered by Sahara City Home townships in their city of choice.

Sahara City Homes are planned townships that will be developed individually on 100-300 acres of land, which would vary according to the city's requirement. Sahara Infrastructure & Housing would develop all facilities to international standards in each of these townships, with plans including multiplexes, hospitals, schools, hotels and clubs, community centres etc.

As a gated community, Sahara City Homes would have multilevel security. According to the company, the townships would be environmentally friendly, with 55-60 per cent of the total land area dedicated to greenery and open spaces, and assured continuous power and drinking water supplies to all of the 217 townships.

Construction and development of Sahara City Homes is in progress in the cities of Nagpur (43.16 hectares), Lucknow (80.94 hectares), and Indore (35.82 hectares). Construction is being done one step higher than the applicable seismic zone norms for earthquake resistant construction of each city.   Development has also been initiated in the cities of Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Aurangabad, Solapur, Jodhpur and Gwalior.

Speaking on the occasion,. Sushanto Roy, head of  Sahara Infrastructure and Housing said, "For the first time we are taking Sahara City Homes outside India. Dubai is a big market for Indian real estate developers. The Middle East region for decades has attracted people from all across India who look for better career prospects beyond the subcontinent. Sahara City Homes fulfils their requirement of international standard and high quality living, back home at the city of their choice. We expect success for Sahara City Homes at the show".
