Maruti Suzuki gearing for biggest product offensive in 2015

24 Dec 2014

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the company's biggest product offensive in 2015, Business Standard reported. The carmaker has four new models in various segments in the pipeline and many facelifts are also under way.

It launched the Celerio this year and followed it up by the Ciaz as also the refreshed Swift.

The company next year would kick off the new launches with SX4 S-Cross, YRA premium hatchback, Celerio Diesel, Wagon R AMT and facelifts of Ertiga and Dzire. Maruti Suzuki had also been testing a new compact SUV, codenamed YRA, which could be launched in early 2016.

The SX-4 Cross was seen under test with its camouflage in India and the launch will see the car take on the likes of Hyundai's Elite i20 Cross (which was also expected to be launched soon).

The car had already been launched in Europe and there may be some cosmetic changes for India. According to reports, the SX-4 Cross would be launched with a new 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol engine.

According to commentators, the YRA hatch would be placed above the Swift in the portfolio and would retain the same engine lineup of the Swift. It would, however, be more spacious and premium than the Swift.
