Mercedes to debut five new models at Geneva 2008

Mercedes-Benz will showcase five new models at the Geneva Motor Show, beginning on 6 March 2008. The company is committed to reductions in fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, which will reflect on the new products to be launched in Geneva. Despite their outstanding levels of safety, comfort and refinement, the new coupés and roadsters consume up to 10 per cent less fuel than their predecessors.
 
Mercedes SLThe SL-Class Mercedes roadster, has been refined, improved and is now even more agile with a new direct-steer system while offering even more safety and comfort. At Geneva, Mercedes will display SL models with engines ranging from six to twelve cylinders.

Mercedes SLKThe SLK model, already showcased at the Detroit show, will be another attraction from the Mercedes stable, to feature at Geneva. The latest generation of the SLK is a two-seater sports car with lower fuel consumption. The designers have given it a considerable facelift, including the trend setting vario-roof that transforms it from roadster to weatherproof coupé in a matter of seconds.

The new CLC, Mercedes-Benz will also be on display at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is a newly designed sports coupé powered CDI engines in the five-litre consumption class.
 
Mercedes CLS550The updated CLS, to feature in Geneva, is a four-door coupé with compact body dimensions and the muscular lines emphasise the sporty appearance of the new CLC. Mercedes-Benz offers four four-cylinder and two six-cylinder engines with power outputs ranging from 90 kW/122 hp to 200 kW/272 hp for the new CLC

The fifth car to debut at the auto show under Mercedez, is the CL500 4MATIC. With a weight of just 70kg, the newly developed 4MATIC is the lightest drive system of its kind. Mercedes-Benz has further improved this all-wheel drive system, and uses the latest-generation system in the CL500 4MATIC - the one that has already proved successful in the S-Class.

The International Geneva Motor Show (Salon International de l'Auto) is an annual auto show held in March in the Swiss city of Geneva. The show, which made its debut in 1905, is held at Palexpo, a giant convention centre located next to the International Airport. The 2008 edition will be open to public from 6 March to 16 March.
