Microsoft launches Windows Phone 7.5 version for India

Microsoft today announced the launch of the latest version of its Windows Phone operating system for India - Windows Phone 7.5 - which is also referred to as Mango. The latest version is said to be more user friendly.

The company also announced the release of HTC Radar smartphone based on the new Windows Phone 7.5 version.

In a release, the company said more Windows Phone based devices could be expected from Samsung, Acer and Nokia.

Earlier on 3 Ocotber Samsung had launched the Omnia W smartphone powered by the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update in  India.

The Mango is said to be the most user-friendly among the smartphone OS from Microsoft. The company has already thrown open the Windows Marketplace and with the latest launch, users of Mango could now receive relevant apps as well.

According to Bhaskar Pramanik, chairman, Microsoft India, the company was incredibly excited about today's unveiling of Windows Phone. He added, with Windows Phone, the company had looked at the smartphone from a completely fresh perspective and the end result was an operating system that was stylish, innovative, and one that offered the most sought after user experiences including search, gaming, email and social networks across Bing.
