MindTree Consulting is now MindTree with immediate effect

01 Apr 2008

Global IT and R&D services company, MindTree Consulting Ltd, today announced that it has changed its name to MindTree Ltd with immediate effect, as part of it's growth strategy towards becoming a billion dollar organisation.

The company has also made changes to its visual identity.

Over the years, the company has emerged as one of the fastest growing IT and R&D services providers, offering a bouquet of services across a range of technology and industry domains.

"The word 'consulting' in our name, however, did not reflect the entire range of services we offer our customers. While MindTree is one of the first companies to offer consulting-led IT services, we are Intellectual Property-led in our R&D Services," stated Ashok Soota, MindTree chairman and managing director.

With the new name, the company is now in a position to offer newer areas of services to it's customers across the globe and MindTree Ltd will now become the umbrella name under which future acquisitions can take the forms of divisions or subsidiaries, he added.

The change of the company name is in line with its strategy towards the next phase of growth. Called MindTree 2.0, MindTree announced its strategy become a billion dollar organisation a few months ago.

MindTree Consulting, which started in 1999 is co-headquartered in the US and India. The company was started by 10 industry professionals who came from Cambridge Technology Partners, Lucent Technologies and Wipro. The founding team was led by Ashok Soota who was at that time the vice chairman and president of Wipro, one of India's largest software companies.
