Moser Baer Solar Ltd (MBSL), a subsidiary of Moser Baer India Ltd, has bagged rooftop solar installation contracts for state government-run programmes in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.

Moser Baer Solar, which has been focusing on developing grid-linked solar projects over the past two years, has now shifted focus to residential rooftop segment, the company said in a statement.

Having pioneered and led the multi-megawatt grid tier segment, Moser Baer Solar has now emerged as the lead player in the state run programmes for rooftop solar installation, according to the company's stock market filing.

''We are now working with state nodal agencies to solarise Indian homes. We are bringing PV modules made in India and designed for the Indian residential segment,'' said Vivek Chaturvedi, chief marketing officer.

''We are bringing world class 'Made in India' PV modules and design practices to Indian residential segment. We will use MBPV Elite series modules for our Indian installations as well, which have been well acclaimed in the Japanese residential segment for the last 3 years," Chaturvedi said.

The company has the concept of custom designing and installation of portable solar systems that can be put on roofs without the need to puncture the roof or damage the structure of the building.

The announcement comes on the back of Bridge to India report, which placed Moser Baer Solar as the undisputed leader in grid-tied systems for two years in a row.
