Motorola’s Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones to get updates to Android 7.0 Nougat in India

Motorola has announced that its budget-friendly Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones, which were released earlier this year, would receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat in India.

The update would give handset owners all the Nougat features, including Android Doze, the multi-window view, and work mode, as also a number of Motorola-centric features like new a new Moto action.

The Moto G line of phones has gained much popularity amongst those who look for inexpensive but quality phones. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus which are new to the market would now get their Nougat update and owners who had not received it yet should attempt a manual update via the phone's settings.

According to Motorola's update notes, people who update would get various features of Nougat, including the ability to quacking switch between apps by double-tapping, the multi-window view for running apps side-by-side, and Work Mode if you're an Android for Work user.

There was also the improved Doze mode, a data saver, direct replies from notifications, and bundled notifications.

There were other Nougat features including custom quick settings, update emoji, emergency information options and more. There were also those Motorola features, which included a Moto action for swiping to shrink the screen and using the fingerprint sensor to lock / unlock the screen, assuming you have the Moto G4 Plus.

In order to more about the shrink the screen option, users need to open the Moto app from the app tray, then go to "Actions" and tap "Swipe to shrink the screen".

Users who had received a notification message for the update, Select ''Yes, I'm in'' and then after the software is downloaded, select "Install now".

On installation, users' phone would re-start automatically and it would be updated.

Users who had not received a notification message for this update need to, select the Settings icon in the apps menu, select ''About phone'', then select ''System Updates'', select "Yes, I'm in". After downloading is complete, they need to select "Install now".

After the installation of the software, their phone would re-start automatically.
