MoU Excellence Award for GAIL

GAIL India Ltd has been awarded the MoU Award for excellence in performance during 2003-2004. Prashanto Banerjee, chairman and managing director, received the award on behalf of GAIL from vice president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi today.

The MoUs indicate the performance targets on a five-point scale for the ensuing financial year for crucial parameters like production, sales, profit, etc. The other dynamic parameters of significance for strengthening the future potential of the enterprises such as project implementation R&D, human resource development, are also included in the MoUs.

GAIL is the country's premier gas transmission and marketing public sector unit with significant interests in gas processing (LPG, propane and other liquid hydrocarbons), petrochemicals (HDPE, LLDPE), LPG pipeline transmission and telecom (bandwidth leasing).

GAIL has taken a series of initiatives such as global benchmarking, ERP, quality management to bring Six Sigma qualities to its products, as well as projects to internally transform and increased customer focus through e-payments, e-banking, e-receivables, etc.
