Nano passes European crash test

23 Jul 2009

This week, the Nano passed the stringent European crash test at the MIRA facility in Warkwickshire, UK.

The tiny Nano passed the test after experts destroyed two of the cars, one in a side impact, and the other in a head-on crash - fairly common damage for cars that are put through the impact resistant test

The independent tester, the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), the Transport Research Laboratory for the UK Department of Transport, will now find out how safe the Nano is, compared to other cars.

The Euro NCAP gives full score to those cars fitted with electronic stability control as a standard feature and Tata Motors feels that the Nano would could four out of a maximum five stars.
