Nike launches its second World Cup campaign

30 Mar 2011

After spelling out the gospels of the game with its Bleed Blue Pledge, Nike has launched its second ad campaign with the Indian cricketers.

To be showcased today during the India and Pakistan semi final, the commercial 'Yards' depicts the passion of both gully cricket and international cricket by switching between the two settings.

It opens with a neighborhood kid preparing to bowl, giving way to the Indian team preparing for a match, and going on to capture the intensity on both the fields.

The ad again features team India athletes Zaheer Khan, Virat Kohli, S.Sreesanth, M S Dhoni, and Yuvraj Singh, who are a part of Nike's Bleed Blue campaign.

The commercial has been directed by Omri Cohen of Hello Robot Films and the creative direction is done by Senthil Kumar from JWT.

The soundtrack for the ad has been composed by Dhruv Ghanekar, co-founder of Blue Frog sound lab.

''The ad is yet another milestone in Nike's deep connection to cricket in India and we are confident that it will stir the emotions of Bleed Blue,'' said Sanjay Gangopadhyay, marketing director, Nike India.

Yards will also reach out to cricket fans on Nike's YouTube and Facebook pages.
