Nokia advertises Lumia smartphone on Jet Airways' plane

Nokia has 'wrap branded' a Jet Airways' airplane with the colours of its new Lumia smartphone, along with advertisements of the handset inside the aircraft.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, branded under Nokia's 'Amazing Everyday Campaign', was unveiled in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The agreement between Nokia and Jet Airways, effective January, is initially for one month.

The aircraft flies on the Bombay-Hyderabad-Chennai-Port Blair route, while it also services international destinations like Abu Dhabi or Sharjah during the night, depending on which route is free at the time.

"The idea is to use the aircraft as a flying billboard to earn ancillary revenues. The aircraft wrap is like a flying billboard that allows you to take your brand to the skies quite literally," Jet Airways marketing vice-president Manish Dureja said.

However, he did not divulge the revenue Jet would get from the tie-up.
