Nokia’s X6 smartphone debuts in UK

25 Nov 2009

Nokia has released the Nokia X6 in the UK, nearly three months after it first made an appearance online. The X6 will be available direct from Nokia's website for £449 unlocked.

The phone first reported in the media in September 2009, has a 3.2-inch touchscreen that can display 640x360 pixels and comes with 32GB built-in storage and a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a Carl Zeiss lens.

The rest of the features are quite similar to the Nokia N97 although the X6 is powered by a 433 MHz ARM processor that is significantly slower than the rest of the competition.

Analysts say that though the X6 might be one of the most desirable of Nokia's models available, in the final analysis it is Apple that remains one-up simply by the virtue of its much better application solution by £449 unlocked way of the App store.

The X6 currently available exclusively at Phones4U will be on sale on contracts starting from £35 per month. Interested N-series customers can trade-in their phones and avail a £10 monthly discount.

Play will be selling the blue/silver version of the phone for as little as £400 unlocked and the phone which will be possibly replacing the extremely popular Nokia 5800 Xpress Music is currently listed as coming soon to the site.
