PC giant Dell announced on Thursday, 6 December, that it will soon begin selling its PCs at more than 900 Best Buy stores all over the US. This comes as part of its year-long push to gain more of the US consumer market.

Various models of Dell's XPS and Inspiron notebooks as well as its desktop PCs will be in Best Buy stores within a few weeks, but the computers will not be available in time for the Christmas shopping season.

The deal follows moves Dell made earlier this year to put its PCs on the shelves at Wal-Mart stores in the US, as well as with retailers in the UK, China and Japan. Dell computers will now be available in almost 10,000 retail outlets worldwide.

Dell's Q3 sales showed that notebooks sales had risen 19 per cent from the previous year, accounting for $4.7 billion of the company's quarterly sales of $15.65 billion.
