Mumbai: Independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, NXP Semiconductors, has tied up with global consulting, technology and outsourcing services leader, Capgemini, for five years to provide end-to-end finance and accounting (F&A) services, including procure-to-pay and record-to-report.

Earlier in 2000, Capgemini had implemented its ERP deployment, Speed, based on SAP, for NXP in 2000.

NXP, founded by Phillips 50 years ago, expects the current arrangement to support its business renewal programme, which focuses on high performance, operational excellence and an asset-light strategy.

Paul de Koning, group controller at NXP, said, "This new contract gives us a more flexible platform to meet our programme goals strengthening our position in the marketplace and improving service quality to our clients."

"We have worked successfully with Capgemini for many years, including the support of our global SAP rollout and the implementation of our procurement centre in Manila, Philippines," de Koning said.

Under the terms of the agreement, which expands the existing long-term relationship between the two companies, approximately 110 professionals, who are currently based in India, will join Capgemini's business process outsourcing 'Excellence Delivery Centre' in Chennai, starting 1 October 2007. This will strengthen Capgemini's capabilities to provide F&A services, and brings the number of dedicated BPO experts in India to nearly 1,500.
