PCS Industries receives ISO 14001 accreditation

Mumbai: PCS Industries Limited, a part of the 1200 croreplus transnational PCS Group, today announced that their manufacturing plant in Silvassa has been assessed and accredited with the ISO 14001 certification.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification given by International Certification Ltd (ICL) of Australia/New Zealand studied the companies waste emission and utilization of wasteresources for a period of 2 months, before awarding the ISO14001ceritificate to PCS Industries.

The detailed study by the ICL focused on the PCS Industries'' manufacturing processes, their efficient use of raw materials and available natural resources. The ISO 14001 takes into consideration the company''s policies towards protection of air, water, land, the environment and issues concerning it.

PCS Industries follows a strict environmental policy and management system which is integrated with their day-to-day functioning. For example, PCS has tie-ups with vendors who collect waste packing materials like thermocol and disintegrate in a bio degradable manner. Similarly alkali is added to make the waste acidic free, regular waste water check are carried out with a php meter to maintain acceptable levels. To maintain decibel levels, diesel generators that once created noise is now kept in an isolated chamber with sound proofing.
