PepsiCo, Inc. reported strong results for 2009 driven by healthy gains in its worldwide snacks and international beverage businesses, balanced investments in value and innovation in key markets, and cost efficiency.

PepsiCo Inc' fourth-quarter revenue increased 4.50 per cent to $13.30 billion from $12.73 billion.

Net income almost doubled to 1.44 billion from 726 million.

However, for the full-year, revenue remained stable at $43.2 billion, reflecting the impact of significant strategic infrastructure investments in the Asia, Middle East, Africa (AMEA) division.

For the year, net profit rose 16 per cent to $5.98 billion, from $5.17 billion in 2008.

"In 2009, strong execution of PepsiCo's operational priorities enabled us to deliver healthy revenue and profit growth and generate strong cash flow, despite the macroeconomic challenges across much of the world,'' said PepsiCo chairman and CEO, Indra Nooyi.
