Petronet Q4 net more than doubles to over Rs208 crore

Petronet LNG has posted a net profit of Rs206.28 crore for the quarter ended 31 March 2011, a 113 per cent jump from the Rs97.29 crore net profit reported in the quarter ended 31 March 2010.

Total income of the company increased by 67 per cent to Rs3,986 crore during the quarter ended 31 March 2011, from Rs2,418.63 crore in the similar quarter of the previous year, unaudited results released today showed.

For the year ended 31 March 2011, the company has posted a 53 per cent jump in net profit, at Rs619.62 crore, against Rs404.50 crore in the year ended 31 March 2010. This is the highest ever net profit achieved by the company since its inception.

Total income for the year has increased 24 per cent to Rs13,197 crore during the year ended 31 March 2011, from Rs10,746.92 crore in the year ended 31 March 2010, according to audited results.

The board of directors of the company at its meeting today, inter alia, recommended a dividend of 20 per cent on the paid-up share capital of the company (ie Rs2 per share) for the year ended 31 March 2011 against 17.50 per cent paid for the previous year.

During the quarter ended 31 March 2011, the company has operated at its full capacity of around 10 MMTPA. The company has regasified a total volume of 125.75 TBTUs against 91.75 TBTUs in the corresponding quarter last year.
