Raymond enters premium women''s wear market with ColorPlus

Mumbai: Textile and apparel company Raymond Ltd has announced its entry in the Rs800 crore premium women''s western-wear market with the launch of ColorPlus Women.

Raymond will open 175 stores in the next three years to retail the range of ColorPlus apparel.

ColorPlus Woman has been fashioned into an assortment of shirts, trousers, dresses, capris, t-shirts, skirts, jackets, denim jeans etc. The newly launched brand offers five lines of clothing, including daywear, sports-wear, business-wear as well as formalwear.

The premium-wear range starting from Rs900 to Rs1,900 will be available at ColorPlus flagship store in multi-brand outlets and large format stores across the country.

Gautam Hari Singhania, chairman and managing director, Raymond, said that the new brand would vie for a significant part of the Rs800-crore premium western women-wear market which is growing at 20 per cent annually.

By the end of the year, Raymond expects to open five exclusive ColorPlus women-store as well as 12 lifestyle stores.

The women''s wear range will be launched in the four metros — Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and four mini metros, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad.

The fabrics used for the construction of the exclusive range include linen, 100 per cent cotton, cotton-blends, printed silks, satin and georgettes.

All the collections are complemented by a matching range of accessories like genuine leather hand bags, hand braided belts, shoes and scarves. The total premium women''s western wear market in India is estimated at Rs2,700 crore.
