Red Hat partners with Tally

Mumbai: Red Hat, the world's leading provider of open source software, today announced its partnership with Tally, leading provider of accounting and inventory business application solutions. Red Hat and Tally will work jointly to make accounting software available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Announcing the tie-up on the occasion Matthew Szulik, CEO, Red Hat, said "It gives me immense pleasure to announce Red Hat's partnership with Tally, one of India's leading ISVs. Tally is the most widely used business solutions software in India. This is a defining milestone in desktop computing and will definitely change the way Indian SME's consume technology"

Szulik further added, "Application availability on the enterprise Linux platform will be the next driving force for Linux adoption."

Both companies will provide a technology roadmap for future releases to Indian customers. Linux, it is claimed by proponents of open source, is less vulnerable to viruses and hence more secure.

Tally claims to have the most powerful business management software to handle the extended enterprise as well as the more traditional functions such as financial accounting, inventory management, sales and purchase orders, invoicing, reporting and MIS, among others.
