Reliance announces 10-day shut-down at its Jamnagar crude processing unit in July

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) today announced a planned 10-day shutdown at a crude oil processing unit at its special economic zone (SEZ) unit at Jamnagar, Gujarat, next month.

RIL's 29 million tonnes-a-year Jamnagar SEZ refinery has two CDUs of 290,000 barrels per day each.

The SEZ unit of Jamnagar refinery of Reliance Industries Limited is planning to shut down one crude distillation unit for routine maintenance and inspection activities in the first half of July for about 10 days, Reliance industries said in a release today.

This opportunity would also be utilised to carry out necessary modifications to improve the reliability and performance of the unit, the company added.

The other three crude distillation units, including major secondary processing units, are planned to operate at normal throughput. The planned maintenance turnaround at the refinery is not expected to have any impact on commercial commitments, RIL added.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India's largest private sector company, had a consolidated turnover of Rs3,88,494 crore ($62.2 billion), cash profit of Rs36,291 crore ($5.8 billion) and net profit of Rs23,566 crore ($3.8 billion) for the year ended 31 March 2015.
