Reliance FY10 net rises to Rs16,236 crore; income tops Rs200,000 crore

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today reported a 6.1 per cent increase in net profit for the financial year 2009-10, at Rs16,236 crore ($3.6 billion). Consolidated net profit of the RIL group rose to $5.4 billion.

RIL's turnover for the year rose 37 per cent to Rs200,400 crore ($44.6 billion) while exports increased 23.5 per cent to Rs110,176 crore ($24.5 billion) against Rs89,199 crore in the previous year.

Reliance said its January-March 2009-10 net profit jumped 30 per cent to Rs4,710 crore. On stand-alone basis, the fourth quarter net profit rose to Rs4,710 crore in FY'10 from Rs3,627 crore in 2008-09, RIL said in a statement.

Stand-alone quarterly total income of the company more than doubled to Rs60,267 crore from Rs26,793 crore in the corresponding quarter in 2008-09.

RIL's exports accounted for more than half of its Rs200,400 crore turnover, which in turn rose 37 per cent year-on-year.

RIL reported a 24.9 per cent increase in its cash profit to Rs27,933 crore ($6.2 billion) and an 11.5 per cent increase in profit before tax to Rs20,547 crore ($4.6 billion).
