Reliance Media Works, Vensat join hands for VFX, animation

Reliance MediaWorks (RMW) today announced its alliance with VenSat Tech Services to expand visual effects and computer graphics (VFX and CG) and animation capabilities as also the creation of a studio in Chennai to cater to the growing needs of the media and entertainment industry.

VenSat would set up a VFX, CG and animation with exclusive focus on projects allied with Reliance MediaWorks at Chennai, the company said in a statement.

This strategic alliance would provide Reliance MediaWorks an immediate direct presence in the South India and the ability to quickly and efficiently scale up capabilities in response to growing demands, it added.

VenSat, which has worked on Bollywood cinema projects like Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ra.One offers creative services to international motion picture, television, home entertainment, gaming and mobile entertainment markets.

According to RMW chief executive officer Anil Arjun, the alliance was a strategic win for Reliance MediaWorks for a number of reasons. He added VenSat gave RMW direct presence in Chennai and enabled it to strengthen its reach in the southern film market.

He added, VenSat's creative and technical expertise added depth to RMW's existing VFX, CG and animation capabilities, offering unrivalled speed, innovation and scale to Indian film makers.
