The second 300 MW unit of the plant is also on track for commissioning before the end of the calendar year, it added.

Reliance Power has invested over Rs3,600 crore in the Butibori power project, one of the biggest single investments in the state.

The 600 MW plant has been so compacted that it required only 275 acres of land.
