RIL announces maintenance shutdown at one of its crude distillation units at Jamnagar

Reliance Industries has announced maintenance shutdown at one of its crude distillation units at its special economic zone refinery at Jamnagar, Gujarat.

''The company has scheduled a planned maintenance turnaround of one of the crude distillation unit of its SEZ refinery at Jamnagar complex for a period of approximately three weeks starting mid-February'', the company said in a release.

The maintenance turnaround is planned for the first time after its commissioning during the 2008-09 financial year. Reliance plans to utilise this opportunity to take up productivity improvement related jobs in other secondary processing units as well.

During this period, other three crude distillation units at Jamnagar refining complex are expected to sustain normal operations, RIL said.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is India's largest private sector company on all major financial parameters with a turnover of Rs2,58,651 crore ($58 billion), cash profit of Rs34,530 crore ($7.7 billion), net profit of Rs20,286 crore ($4.5 billion) and net worth of Rs1,51,540 crore ($34 billion) as of 31 March 2011.
