RIL executives meet CAG officials over KG-D6 gas

12 Jul 2011

Executives of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) today engaged with CAG officials in a lengthy meeting on the KG-D6 gas fields during the Exit Conference the top auditor held as prelude to finalising its report.

Reliance executive director PMS Prasad's team took around 100 minutes to reply to CAG's draft report observations.

Reliance was followed by Cairn India and BG Group of UK in furnishing clarifications to CAG queries.

The CAG is holding an Exit Conference with private firms and the oil ministry before finalising its audit report on Reliance's KG-D6 gas field, Cairn's Rajasthan oil block and BG's Panna-Mukta and Tapti oil and gas fields.

The CAG engaged with the three operators in separate sessions in the forenoon and with the oil ministry post lunch.

Meanwhile, RIL has sent a point-by-point reply to a draft CAG report on its D6 field.

In a voluminous reply spread over 230 pages, RIL has been critical of CAG's approach. It termed CAG's conclusion ''erroneous'' that an expense incurred by it was not warranted.
