With the announcement of new Interceptor 750 and continental GT 750, Royal Enfield will tap the market of Harley Davidson and Triumph, which is currently untouched by any Indian manufacturer.

Royal Enfield, the country's premier motorcycle brand, has recorded a 31 per cent increase in January 2018 sales, with over 77,878 units of various models sold in the month against 58,133 units sold in January last year.

Eicher Motors, which owns the Royal Enfield brand in India, said bike sales consistently witnesses positive growth with 77,878 motorcycles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in January 2018, recording a growth of 31 per cent over the same period last year.

Royal Enfield, with a product line-up like Classic 350, Thunderbird, Continental GT and Himalayan, managed to sell 76,205 units in the domestic market in January 2018, compared to 58,133 units for the same period last year.

The strong sales can be attributed to improvements that company made in its Classic 350 motorcycle, which is also among the top-sellers for Royal Enfield. With the announcement of new Interceptor 750 and continental GT 750, Royal Enfield will tap the market of Harley Davidson and Triumph that are currently unchallenged in the Indian market.

Royal Enfield recently also launched a new version of Himalayan, the all-new Himalayan Sleet. The first 500 Sleet+ Explorer Kit motorcycles, with pre-fitted genuine motorcycle accessories, were made available at a special introductory price. All 500 motorcycles were successfully sold through a limited online sale on 30 January 2018.

The company currently operates through 17 company-operated stores and 750 dealers in all major cities and towns in India, and exports to over 50 countries across the world including the USA, UK, several European and Latin American countries, as well as the Middle East and South-East Asia.
