Saint Gobain Glass India to offer solar energy glass solutions

Saint Gobain Glass India exhibited a range of solar glass solutions at the exhibition for renewable energy, Direc 2010.

The solutions being offered by the company include high performance glass for photovoltaics, CIGS photovoltaic panels, solar mirrors for CSP tehnologies and solar systems.

''For Saint Gobain, India is one of the most important markets to consider for investments in solar, because of its knowledge and skill sets as well as Saint Gobain's strong manufacturing capabilities,'' said Fabrice Didier, CEO, Saint Gobain Solar.

The company has a manufacturing base in Sriperumbudur and an upcoming facility at Bhiwadi.

Saint-Gobain Glass India Ltd started operations in the year 2000 with the commissioning of its first float glass plant. Today, it is a market leader in the flat glass industry with a market share of 38 per cent. 

Saint-Gobain Solar combines all Saint-Gobain businesses in the solar sector.
