Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 getting ICS updates

08 Aug 2012

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.0 ICS update to the Galaxy Tab 7.7, but a downside to the update is that it cannot be downloaded Over The Air (OTA) app. Users of the device would need to download Samsung's Kies PC software for Windows, connect the device and look for the Android 4.0 install package.

But that is not all. Only users in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, and the UK who have the device with model numbered GT-P6800 would be able to get software update.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6810 figures in Samsung's official updating list and would get the ICS update soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, it has a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, with a 3MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera and weighs around 340gms.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 comes in variants of 16GB / 32GB and 64GB.

The company's recent tablet launch, the Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2, is a 7-inch tablet that can run on ICS straight out of the box.

The calling function of the device has been upgraded to allow users to make and receive voice calls privately with the use of receiver mode in public places. This relieves users from carrying a headset or Bluetooth for voice calls.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 comes with a 3 MP auto-focus back camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera/Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is on offer in 16/32/64 GB versions.
