Samsung's latest offering in the multimedia phone segment - Pixon M8800 is an 8.0-megapixel touch screen mobile. It is expected to be launched in the UK this month.

Samsung has recently launched its first 8.0-megapixel camera phone, the INNOV8 i8510, but the Pixon M8800 is being marketed as "the world's slimmest full-touch 8.0-megapixel camera phone", measuring just 13.8 mm in thickness.

The 3.2'' WQVGA TFT LCD touch screen has 240 x 400 pixels. The camera has a 16x digital zoom, auto focus, face recognition, smile detection, blink detection, reduced shake, shoZu upload and geo-tagging, and there's even a dedicated photo browser to view and share your photos.

You can capture video at 30fps (720 x 480 resolution) or 120fps (QVGA), and even film in slow motion. MPEG4, WMV, DivX and Xvid formats are supported for video playback

The on-board memory is 200MB, however, with the microSD card slot, you can boost it up to 16 GB. Audio formats supported include MP3, AAC, e-AAC+, e-AAC+ or WMA.

It also offers a host of other features, including HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2-inch touch screen (with landscape option), GPS receiver, Bluetooth et al.  The touch screen is fast and responsive, scrolling through your contacts, tunes, messages and pictures blazingly fast.
