Satyam signs MoU with IIT Madras

Chennai: Satyam Computer Services has signed a MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, to support the institutes' R & D projects.

Students at IIT, Madras will benefit from this synergy, as Satyam will offer its practical domain expertise and knowledge in manufacturing, automotive and other areas of interest, to students. The institute on the other hand will help by providing academic expertise, guidance and facilities to carry out the R&D studies.

Satyam will generate funds to support the project cost.

Commenting on the tie-up, B. Ramalinga Raju, said, "Networking of Industry and institutes is an essential catalyst in all round development and progress. The synergies that both constituents bring to the process are highly beneficial to everyone involved — the students, the institute, the organisation, the industry and ultimately the nation itself."

Prof. M S Ananth, director, IIT, Madras said, "We have always been front runners in the country on R&D projects, offering our students the best of opportunities. We are delighted with our association with Satyam, and are positive that this will further help to strengthen the objective".

The synergy extends to patenting, where IIT, Madras and Satyam will jointly patent significant know-how, discovery or inventions generated as a result of the project that can be patented.
