Sterlite Grid Limited, a hundred-per cent subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies Ltd, has placed orders with KEC International and Simplex Infrastructure for construction of four 765kV transmission lines.

The EPC orders placed today with KEC International and Simplex Infrastructure Ltd are for 2 lines each in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, respectively and are part of the Bhopal-Dhule Transmission Line (BDTCL), Sterlite Technologies said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The scope of these orders includes engineering, supply and construction of 765kV transmission lines terminating at Bhopal and Dhule sub stations.

The four 765 kV transmission lines are part of the company's overall portfolio of 3 ultra mega thermal power (UMTP) projects.

The ENICL project is under construction with expected construction before March 2013. Alsthom Grid (former Areva T&D) and Hyundai will construct the substations for the projects.
