Sun Pharma logs healthy growth

Chennai: Speciality pharmaceutical company, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, has declared a turnover Rs. 699.8 crore and an after tax profit of Rs.191.2 crore for the nine month period ended 31st December 2003. The respective figures for the corresponding period in the previous year are Rs.624.6 crore and Rs.191.2 crore.

For the third quarter, the company''s profit after tax increased by 26.1 per cent to Rs.70.4 crore and the turnover went up by 13.5 per cent to Rs.247.3 crore as compared to the previous year''s third quarter results.

The company''s new 16 acre research and development campus in Baroda, with a 200,000 sq ft research area, is nearing completion and will commence partial operations this year, while the construction of the Mahakali R&D centre is progressing on schedule
