Suzlon's RePower signs deal with EDF Energies

REPower Systems AG, Germany-based wind turbine manufacturer in which Suzlon Energy holds 91 per cent shareholding through a subsidiary has signed a framework contract with EDF Energies Nouvelles and RES Canada.

According to the BSE announcement, the order is for the delivery of up to 954 MW of equipment for windfarm projects in Quebec, Canada currently under development by the consortium Saint-Laurent Energies, a Montreal-based wind energy company owned jointly by EDF Energies Nouvelles Inc, RES Canada Inc and Hydromega Services Inc.

As per the terms of the contract, an offtake of 748MW for deliveries between 2011 and 2015 is guaranteed and provision has been made for additional optional purchase of 206 MW which takes the total order size to 954 MW.
