Suzlon wins fresh orders for 100.8 MW wind power capacity from NALCO, HPCL

Wind turbine maker Suzlon Group has bagged additional orders for 50.4 megawatt (MW) each from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and state-run NALCO.

In two separate BSE filings on Monday, Suzlon said it "has won a third order from HPCL for 50.40 MW capacity wind power project in India and another order from National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO). The HPCL project is scheduled for completion by 2016-17 and the NALCO project is scheduled for completion by 2016-17, it added.

"NALCO's cumulative Suzlon powered wind portfolio will increase to 100.80 MW post completion of this project," it said.

The project is capable of providing power to around 27,000 households and reducing about 0.10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum. Suzlon will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from development to construction and commissioning including operations, maintenance and services of the project for an initial period of 10 years.

With the latest order for Suzlon turbines, HPCL's wind portfolio now stands at 100.9 MW. Suzlon will supply 24 wind turbines of the S97-120 model with rated capacity of 2.1MW each.

The HPCL project comprises of 24 units of S97-120m hybrid towers with rated capacity of 2.1MW each and is scheduled for completion by FY2017.
